Parent Governor Posts

Next week, I will be sending out a letter, on behalf of the governors, inviting parents/carers to stand for a role as parent governor on the governing body of our new primary school. We currently have 2 parent governor vacancies. This is an exciting time for our school and an excellent opportunity for parents wishing to be part of and influence the strategic direction of the school. Please do read the letter and if you have any queries contact the school to arrange an appointment with myself or Mr Barry Underdown, Chair of Governors.

Woodlands Open Evening

Woodlands School have their open evening on Thursday 24th September between 5.00 - 9.00 pm. Please visit the school and see what Woodlands has to offer if your child is in Year 6 or potentially Year 5!

Macmillan Coffee afternoon

On Friday afternoon - 25th September - the PTA will be hosting a coffee afternoon to raise money for Macmillan nurses. The event starts at 2.00 pm and will be held in the KS2 hall.

Clubs

All clubs start tomorrow for this term. Have a great time if you are attending any clubs. After school clubs finish at 4.30 pm

Official opening of the school

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible, weather permitting, at the official opening of the school. The event starts at 2.00 pm so if parents and carers could arrive by 1.55 pm so we can start promptly. We have the press in attendance tomorrow so if anyone does not want their child in a photo or video, please let the office or your class teacher know. It should be a fantastic afternoon and may the sun shine!

Thank you to all the parents and carers who were able to attend the meet and greet event tonight at the school. It was lovely to see and talk to some of you. We hope you found it useful and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible for the official opening of the school tomorrow.

Meet & Greet

Woodlands Year 6 meeting

Thanks to all the parents/carers who were able to attend the Woodlands meeting tonight - Tuesday 15th September. Woodlands open evening is on Thursday 24th September between 5.00 - 9.00 pm.

Tower of London trip

Year 5 enjoying their trip to The Tower of London.

Year 5 head to London tomorrow, Tuesday 15th September, to see The Tower. Sensible shoes, coats, packed lunches and drinks are required for the day. Pictures will be on the website in the future.

Dear one and all,

Welcome to our new school website and blog. We will try and give you as much information as possible. The start of term has been fantastic and you can see the enjoyment of the Year 4 children when Zoolab visited last week, as displayed on the front of the website.
Simon Cox, headteacher @ Woodlands School, visits Year 6 parents and pupils tomorrow afternoon. The meeting will start @ 3.45 and Year 5 are off to The Tower of London tomorrow, Tuesdya 15th September.
